Rey Del Bajo is Bobby Valentin's 8th album (out of 9) with Fania label and is considered one of his best. Cuando Te Vea with Frankie Hernandez in lead vocals made salsanewyork.com list. The other big standout is Hay Craneo with Marvin Santiago in lead vocals. Some people I know think Mi Ritmo Es Bueno is one of Bobby Valentin's best - it's good but I wouldn't go that far.

Don't know, but what I think is that Mi Rítmo Es Bueno IS THE best tune from this album for sure!...

Coco Seco, in a Latin Funky mode works VERY well and is VERY successfully achieved by being well made/well mixed without having too much of the "Funky edges" overpowering the Latin feel of the tune.
VERY enjoyable, even for me who is an extreme purist/traditionalist.

The following tune Codázos is also very interesting and successful with Bobby soloing on Bass, and Aquí No Me Quedo I also enjoy quite a lot.

The other tunes are ABSOLUTELY fine too.
It's a nice mixed bag of variety, and also quite commercial for what 1974 was in MY opinion; which may be another of the reasons why this album was so popular.
