A Man And His Music (or A Lady And Her Music or A Band And Their Music) series from Fania/E-Musica can be considered the most extensive and perhaps most definitive compilation of the most important Fania artists. For a collector of Latin dance music (or Salsa/Mambo/etc), this series should be considered a must – if their collection does not include the original albums already. To date only 7 artists have been given this 2-CD treatment by Fania/E-Musica; they are Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, Ruben Blades, Johnny Pacheco, Eddie Palmieri, Celia Cruz and Fania All-Stars – with Tito Puente and Sonora Poncena in my opinion being the next most likely candidates.

El Agua Del Clavelito, La Esencia Del Guaguanco and Guaguanco Pa’l Que Sabe made salsanewyork.com list.
